Nationally, it's around 7 to 10 years. In sunny states with high electric rates (California, Arizona) it can be under 6 years. In cloudy places with cheap power it might stretch past 12. The solar payback period really depends on your local sun and what you pay for electricity right now.

Does this include state incentives?
