Free Hourly to Salary Converter

Stop doing mental math in your head while staring at a job posting. I built this because I got tired of multiplying hourly rates by 2,080 every single time. Works both ways — hourly to salary or salary back to hourly.

💵 Your Hourly Wage Details

Standard full‑time is 40 hrs/week and 52 weeks. Knock it down to 48‑50 if you take unpaid time off.

Why I threw together this hourly wage calculator

A couple jobs ago I got an offer that was hourly — $27.50 an hour sounded nice — but I had no clue what that actually meant for my yearly take‑home. I remember sitting there with my phone calculator trying to do 27.50 × 40 × 52 and screwing it up twice. Embarassing but true.

That's exactly why I built this free hourly to salary converter. It takes your hourly rate, your typical hours, and how many weeks you actually work (because let's be honest, most of us take some unpaid time off), and spits out every number you'd want — annual, monthly, biweekly, weekly, even daily. I also added a reverse mode because sometimes you know what salary you need and just want to see what hourly rate gets you there.

And the overtime thing? Yeah, that came from a warehouse job where I worked 50‑hour weeks and wanted to know if the extra hours were actually worth the exhaustion. Spoiler: the hourly to yearly calculator showed me overtime added almost $10k a year. That kept me going for a while.

What this pay converter actually does

🔄 Both Directions

I hate tools that only go one way. This hourly wage to annual salary converter also works backwards — put in your target salary and see the hourly rate you need. Super handy when you're negotiating.

⏱ Overtime Built In

Check the overtime box and it'll figure out time‑and‑a‑half (or double time) for hours over whatever threshold you set. It's like a mini overtime pay calculator built right in.

📅 Realistic Weeks

Most converters assume 52 weeks a year. But if you take 2 weeks unpaid vacation, that's 50. Adjust it. The wage converter doesn't judge — it just does the math correctly.

🔏 No Account, No Upload

It's a free hourly paycheck calculator — no login, no email grab, no creepy data harvesting. Just numbers in, numbers out. I use it myself before every job interview.

Real questions I've gotten about salary conversion

How do I convert hourly to salary the right way?

Take your hourly rate, multiply by hours per week, then multiply by 52 (or however many weeks you actually work). So $25/hour × 40 hours × 52 weeks = $52,000 a year. This hourly to annual converter does that instantly and also gives you the monthly and biweekly numbers because who wants to do extra math.

What about unpaid time off?

That's why I made the "weeks per year" field adjustable. If you take 3 weeks unpaid, set it to 49. Your real annual income drops accordingly. Most online calculators ignore this and give you a rosy number that doesn't match reality.

How does overtime change my salary?

A lot. If you work 45 hours a week at $25/hour with time‑and‑a‑half for anything over 40, those extra 5 hours are at $37.50. Over a year that's an extra $9,750. The salary calculator with overtime checkbox lets you see this instantly.

How do I figure out what hourly rate I need to hit a certain salary?

Flip to the "Salary → Hourly" tab. Type in your target salary, say $75,000, and it'll tell you that you need about $36.06/hour at 40 hours a week. This is clutch when you're job hunting and a recruiter asks what rate you're looking for.

Is this calculator accurate for part‑time work?

Totally. Set your hours to 20 or 25 or whatever you work. The math is the same. I used it when I was freelancing and working weird schedules — it helped me figure out if I could actually pay rent.

Is this really free? No fine print?

Yeah, completely free. I built this free hourly to salary converter because I wanted one that worked without hassling me. No ads, no upsells, no "create an account to see your results" garbage. You can literally save this page and use it offline forever.
